Overview

Set your room prices, your extra charges and your discounts before you go live.

The Prices phase has three sections. Basic rate is required. Charge items and Discounts are optional. Basic rate is the only section that can stop you from going live.

SectionRequired?Opens whenYou enter
Basic rate✅Room types and Taxes are doneThe price of each room type for weekdays and weekends, and more rates if you sell them
Charge items❌Taxes is doneExtras that you charge on top of the room, like laundry or an extra bed
Discounts❌Basics is doneThe discounts your staff can give

If a section is not open yet, it shows as a preview. A message at the top says "Preview. Finish Taxes first to fill this in." Select Go to Taxes → to open the section you need first.

When is a section done?

SectionDone when
Basic rateEvery room type that you sell by room has prices for the next 30 days.
Charge itemsAt least one active item has a price or a tax. Or you skip it.
DiscountsAt least one discount is turned on. Or you skip it.

Discounts usually shows as done before you open it, because Estatell adds a starter discount and turns it on. Select Next to visit it, and change or turn off what you do not need.

Charge items and Discounts never stop you from going live. You can fill them in before Basic rate.

Prices for dorm beds

The Basic rate section does not price dorm beds. If a room type is sold by bed, the section leaves it out. Price the beds in Settings, under Rate plans, after you go live.

What you do later in Settings

The Prices phase asks only for what you need to go live. After you go live, you can change more in Settings:

  • Prices for each number of adults, and a charge for a single guest.
  • Child prices, and rates for long stays or for companies.
  • Meals in a rate, packages, and day use prices.
  • When a charge item adds itself to a bill, and the child price of an item.
  • Long-stay and rate discounts.
